Cookie Policy
The cookies and similar storage this site uses. There are only a few, and none are for advertising.
Effective 31 OCT 2026. Last updated 31 OCT 2026.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. "Similar technologies" such as local storage work the same way. They let a site remember things between pages and visits. This policy covers both.
2. How we use them
We use the smallest set that keeps the Site working and secure. We set no advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
3. Cookies we set
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| exoliner_clearance | Functional | Records that your browser passed the human check, so you are not asked again right away. | About 5 minutes |
| exoliner_cols | Functional | Remembers your column widths on the data tables, so they load the way you left them. | 1 year |
| exoliner_admin | Functional / owner only | Keeps the site owner signed in to the private lookup log. Never set for visitors. | 12 hours |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Functional / security | Set by Cloudflare to run the bot check that protects the Site from automated abuse. | Session / short-lived |
4. Local storage we use
These are kept in your browser only and are never sent to us:
- theme — Remembers whether you chose light, dark, or system appearance.
- Per-page preferences — Remembers your page size and lookup widget layout on the data pages.
- Session token — A random per-tab id used only to count how many people are online. No personal data.
5. Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, and clear local storage the same way. Note that the functional cookies above keep the Site working: block the human-check cookie and you will be asked to pass the check again more often, or may not be able to reach the protected pages at all.
6. More
What we do with the data behind these cookies is covered in our Privacy Policy. Questions go to legal@exoliner.net.
